Paris Saint-Germain vs Monaco match preview and betting tips 28 Aug 2016

The reigning champion Paris Saint-Germain is ready for its first big test in the French Ligue 1 this season, with Unai Emery’s team travelling to face Monaco at the Stade Louis II.

The Parisians started brilliantly their new campaign in the Ligue 1, enjoying two straight wins against Bastia and Metz in the first two rounds of the league. Many people wonderred if PSG’s new manager Unai Emery is going to need some time to leave his mark on the team, but for now the Spanish tactician is not showing any signs of trouble, winning the French Supercup and starting greatly in the domestic league.

Monaco didn’t start too well the new campaign, losing two points at home against Guingamp in the first round, but a week later Leonardo Jardim’s team showed signs of improvement, winning its visit to Nantes.

The experienced Italian goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis is missing the game against the champions because of an injury, so we should expect to see Danijel Subasic in action once again. Leonardo Jardim still can’t rely on the Colombian striker Radamel Falcao, too, but the good news for him are that the young Brazilian forward Gabriel Boschilia managed to score in his first appearance for the club against Nantes. He’s certianly a player to watch in future.

PSG are once again without their captain and leader Thiago Silva, who is injured. Against Metz the Brazilian international was replaced in the starting line-up by the 21-years old Presnel Kimpembe.  The good news for Unai Emery are that everyone else is healthy and ready for action, so we are about to witness a PSG team close to its best.

PSG are showing a great form under Unai Emery’s guidance so far, so there’s no reason to not trust them for winning this one, too. Monaco are a solid team with Leonardo Jardim on helm, but although the four points won in the first two rounds, they didn’t perform in their best way. Keep in mind the possibility of a draw, though.
