After beating Milan at the Stadio Olimpico on Monday, Roma are now once again looking as the strongest contender to Juventus for the Serie A title.
Luciano Spalletti’s boys won four of their last five games, but now they have an incredibly tough challenge in front of them - a visit to Juventus at the Juventus Stadium in Turin.
Both teams won their last Serie A games. Juve won the city derby against Torino, while just like we said - Roma beat Milan at home. It secured the second spot for the Giallorossi for now - they have three points advantage in front of Milan. But they are still four points behind the leader and reigning champion Juventus.
If Juve win the derby against Roma on Saturday night, Allegri’s team will be seven points clear at the top - a strong hint that they are once again going to triumph with the Serie A title at the end of the season. If Roma want to keep their title ambitions alive, they should not lose in Turin on Saturday night. The draw should be the minimum goal they are striving for.
Daniel Alves will be out of Max Allegri’s plans, healing a broken leg. The central defenders Leonardo Bonucci and Andrea Barzagli are doubtful, while the same could be said about the young ace Marko Pjaca.
There are some problems for Luciano Spalletti as well. The Dutch international Kevin Strootman is suspended for the game, while Alessandro Florenzi, Leandro Paredes and Bruno Peres are all injured. Thomas Vermaelen is also doubtful for the game. The good news come from the condition of Mohamed Sallah, who is once again healthy and ready for action.
Prediction: Roma are a really strong side under the guidance of a talented manager like Luciano Spalletti, but for now Juventus are much stronger side than everyone else in the Serie A. Especially at home ground. Everyone at Juve knows that a win against Roma will bring the team even more confidence in the title run, so we expect to see them victorious. For a bigger odd, you could try the X/1 for Juventus. We expect Roma to offer some hustle in the first half, but eventually they are going to lose the game after the break.
