Bayer Leverkusen are hosting Borussia Dortmund in one of the most interesting games of the 6th round of the German Bundesliga.
The two teams are performing in very different way since the start of the new season. Leverkusen were really inconsistent in the first five rounds, winning two games, losing two more and sharing the points against Augsburg at home. That’s just 7 points for them from 15 possible, which is not enough for their ambitions for Champions League football next year.
Borussia Dortmund on the other hand are almost perfect since the beginning of the campaign, with the only exception being their lose against RB Leipzig in the second round. Thomas Tuchel’s boys won four of their fist five games in the Bundesliga, with Bayern Munich being the only team ahead of Dortmund in the standings.
Leverkusen’s manager Roger Schmidt has some problems with injured players before the game. He won’t be able to rely on one of his most important midfielders Lars Bender, who is out of this match. The striker Karim Bellarabi is also injured, while the same could be said about Vladlen Yurchenko and Omer Toprak as well.
Thomas Tuchel has even more problems before the game in Leverkusen. One of Dortmund’s biggest stars Marco Reus is dealing with an injury, being in the company of Sven Bender, Erik Durm, Neven Subotic, Andre Schurrle and Marc Bartra. The good thing for Tuchel is that he has enough other options to choose from.
Prediction: Borussia Dortmund is the better team of the two, with them being the team in a better form as well. Leverkusen are struggling since the start of the new season, while Borussia are almost perfect in their performance. They are a heavy favourite to win this clash, even with some important players being injured for the game.
